To enjoy some casino entertainment during your Vegas Trip, you need to pick the game that suits your idea of fun. Do you just want to have some fun, or do you want to try to win?

Games like slots and roulette are really entirely chance, however they are easy to play, just put your money in the slot or on the table and off you go.

If you would like to improve your odds of winning, then choose games where you can influence the outcome, specifically, blackjack and poker.

For Blackjack, a very simple strategy which can work is to stick at 15 or above. This is because at 15, there are 6 cards which will not bust you ( Ace, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 ) but there are 7 cards which will bust you ( 7, 8, 9, 10, Jack, Queen, King ), so chances are, you will go bust more often than not if you twist at 15 or above.

For Blackjack betting amounts, we recommend that you select a table where the minimum bet is 1/20th of what you have to spend that night. So, if you have gone out with $100 to gamble with, pick a blackjack table with a minimum bet of $5 or less, and only bet the minimum.

For Poker, it can be best to stick to freeze out tournaments. In a cash game, or a rebuy tournament, it can be too tempting to just keep buying your way back onto the table. Also, the knowledge that you can just buy your way back in can inspire reckless gambling in both yourself and other players. Whereas if you know that once your chips are gone, it is the end of your tournament, you are more likely to tighten up and play better poker.

Basic texas holdem poker strategy for freeze out tournaments.

1. Do not play very low buy in tournaments, if there is no real money to be won, then everyone will just behave as if it is play money. You could do that at home with matchsticks. Pick a tournament where the buy in is within your budget, but the prize money is worthwhile.

2. Forget what you have seen in movies, do not bluff, do not push all your chips in on the first good hand you get. Tournament poker is about waiting for the right combination of a good hand, and an impatient opponent who just wants to bet. Then you should act, take their chips, and retreat back into your waiting game. Ideally you should be folding at least 4 out of every 5 hands right away.

3. Bet amounts - usually a good amount to bet initially is 3 times the big blind. This is significant enough to scare off the weaker hands, without committing yourself. You can still fold without losing too much. On later betting rounds, you should usually bet between half the pot and the whole pot, this shows that you are serious, and will stop people calling you just because they might as well.
